MARTA

Directions

Interstate 75 and 85 Southbound

Exit at #248A, Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive exit. Go straight to the 5th traffic light and turn left onto Pryor Street. Go to the 3rd traffic light and turn left onto Garnett Street. Municipal Court is the building on the right.

Interstate 75 and 85 Northbound

Exit at #246, Fulton Street/Central Avenue exit. After passing the 2nd traffic light, turn left onto Garnett Street. Municipal Court is the building on the left.

Interstate 20 Eastbound

Exit at #56B, the Windsor and Spring Street exit. Go straight to the 3rd traffic light and turn left onto Central Avenue. After passing the 1st traffic light, turn left onto Garnett Street. Municipal Court is the building on the left.

Interstate 20 Westbound

Exit at #58A, Hank Aaron Drive exit (formally Capitol Avenue). Turn right at the light onto Hank Aaron Drive, At the 1st light turn left onto Memorial Drive and proceed to the 2nd traffic light and turn right onto Central Avenue. Immediately get into the lane and turn left onto Garnett Street. Municipal Court is the building on the left.

The MARTA Garnett Street Rail Station is located on the corner of Peachtree and Brotherton Streets at 225 Peachtree Street SW, Atlanta, GA 30303.  It is one block west of the court on Garnett Street.  It is also across the street from the City of Atlanta Pretrial Detention Center and the court is located on the other side of the Pretrial Detention Center.  Visit MARTA online for more information.

 

Security Procedures

All entrance to the Lenwood A. Jackson, Sr. Justice Center is monitored by security. Visitors are asked to enter through the magnetometer after placing personal items such as handbags, briefcases, portfolios, umbrellas and packages on a conveyor belt for x-ray inspection. Other smaller items such as coins, metallic jewelry, belt buckles, cell phones and PDAs should be placed in a basket before passing through the magnetometer. A hand scan and extensive pat down will be conducted if you alarm the metal detector or are referred to additional screening.

The following are examples of items prohibited at the court. The general public will not be admitted with:  any type firearm, knives, tools or sharp objects that can be used as weapons and mace or pepper spray. Please leave any items you are unsure about at home or in your vehicle.
