JUDGE CATHERINE E. MALICKI
MUNICIPAL COURT OF ATLANTA


Atlanta native Judge Catherine E. Malicki graduated from Georgia State University in 1973 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology. She later attended Emory University’s School of Law where she earned a Juris Doctorate degree in 1976. In 1977, she became an Assistant Solicitor at Atlanta Municipal Court. She was then appointed to be the Director of the Bureau of Buildings for the City of Atlanta by the Honorable Mayor Maynard H. Jackson in 1979, where she was instrumental in the creation of the City’s Housing Court. In 1982, she returned to the Atlanta Municipal Court where she was appointed as City Solicitor. Catherine Malicki was then appointed as Judge by the Honorable Mayor Andrew Young on May 13, 1983. She has retained her position through re-election since then.
