Georgia municipal association convention (GMA)


The 2004 Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) Summer Convention was held in Savannah June 26 through June 29, 2004 . At the meeting, Mayor Franklin was elected by the membership as 2nd Vice President, which puts her in line to become President in 2006, if re-elected. She is the first Atlanta Mayor since William Hartsfield to serve as an officer of the GMA. The City of Atlanta was also recognized as a Certified City of Ethics due to our strengthened ethics code and financial disclosure requirements.
