Atlanta residents age 65 and older
The deadline to apply for the solid waste senior citizens discount is June 1, 2005
If you received the senior discount last year, you do not need to reapply.
If you have never applied for the discount we encourage you to do so.
If you reside in Atlanta/Fulton please apply with the Fulton Tax Assessor’s office at 141 Pryor Street, Suite 1047b, Atlanta GA, they can be reached at 404-224-0102.
If you reside in Atlanta/Dekalb please apply with the Dekalb Tax Commissioner’s office at 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 100, Decatur, GA., They can be reached at 404-298-4000.
Requirements for the senior citizen discount are:
- Age 65 or older (proof of age include birth certificate, driver’s license or georgia id card).
- Property owner of record on primary residence
- Total household income of $39,000 or less (proof of income include 2004 state and federal income tax returns and social security 1099 forms for every member of your household). If you do not file tax returns, you must provide all w-2’s and form 1099 for all sources of income for every member of your household.
Please remember that the deadline for applying is june 1.
