2006 Montreux Jazz Festival Line up
The City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs, in conjunction with Underground Atlanta, announced details for the long-awaited return of the Montreux Jazz Festival Atlanta! This year’s festival will feature a diverse range of performers representing everything from urban rock and R&B to jazz and funk music. The 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival Atlanta will be held Labor Day weekend, September 1-3, at Underground Atlanta for the first time in the festival’s history.
The weekend will feature such acts as the urban rock group the Thunderkats, smooth R&B sounds from Anthony David, rock-folk from Doria Roberts and funk music from State of the Art featuring Sonny Emory. The tunes will continue after hours during the Montreux Club Crawl! Three clubs in Kenny’s Alley, Motion, Mercury Club and Charlie Brown’s, will host late night entertainment each night during the weekend from 9pm – 4am.
The FREE Montreux Jazz Festival Atlanta will be a weekend packed with fun activities that the entire family can enjoy. In addition to a variety of music from stages on Upper Alabama, in Kenny’s Alley and a stage inside Underground Atlanta featuring blues, the weekend’s festivities will also include an interactive Kid’s Zone, arts & crafts and food vendors.
