The City of Atlanta and residents of NPU Z are engaged in a community planning effort that will govern the future development and programming of Southside Park. The firm of Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh and Associates has been engaged to work with an advisory group drawn from community members, starting last April. The Arthur Blank Foundation has generously supported the costs of producing the Plan.
With the encouragment and assistance of Councilmember Joyce Sheperd the advisory group has completed a Draft of the Southside Park Master Plan which may be further modified after review by the community before it is submitted to City Council. You may download the Draft Plan (PDF,9mb) by clicking here. You may also obtain a copy of the Draft Master Plan by contacting staff members listed on this page.
The Draft Plan will be discussed at the meeting of NPU Z on September 24 (The NPU meets at Rosel Fann Recreation Center). The South River Garden Group is expected to consider the plan in its September agenda (Septmber 10) The NPU may then vote on the Draft at its October meeting.
