Vine City/Washington Park LCI
PROJECT SUMMARY
The City of Atlanta Bureau of Planning, with the support of City Council Members Ivory Young and Cleta Winslow, is conducting a study of the Vine City/Washington Park Study Area through the Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Program administered by the Atlanta Regional Commission.

Study Goals
- What can we do now to create the Vine City/Washington Park we want to see in 5, 10, 25 or 50 years?
- How can we encourage a diverse and sustainable mix of housing, employment, shopping, business, and open space?
- How can we promote and encourage smart growth and redevelopment while protecting the neighborhood’s existing character, businesses and residents?
- What can we do to improve the study area’s visual character?
- How can we encourage sustainable growth and development in Vine City/Washington Park?
- How can we create a strong positive identity and character for Vine City/Washington Park?
- How can we establish pedestrian-friendly connections with the Beltline, the Georgia Dome & Georgia World Congress Center?

PROJECT TEAM
Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh & Associates will lead a multi-disciplinary team that includes urban designers, transportation engineers, planners, local public involvement specialists, and real estate market advisors. Marketek will provide the market analysis, Croy Engineering will provide transportation analysis, The Collaborative Firm will provide land use & zoning analysis, and Contente Consulting will lead the public participation efforts.
