Metropolitan Parkway Streetscape Project
Existing Conditions Along Metropolitan Pkwy
Phase I
- Intersection improvements at Metropolitan Parkway and Cleveland Avenue
- Streetscape improvements between Casplan Street and Deckner Avenue (west side of street). This stretch of sidewalk is directly across from Atlanta Metropolitan College.
- A new gateway feature will be installed at Ralph David Abernathy and Metropolitan Parkway with new sidewalks at both sides of the street between Ralph David Abernathy and Sheldon Avenue
Bid documents are currently undergoing the final review stages with GDOT
Phase II
- Intersection improvements at Metropolitan Parkway and University Avenue
- Streetscape improvements from Deckner Avenue to University Avenue; Fair Street to Casplan at areas where there are currently no sidewalks and as the budget allows
- A public meeting was held on May 2003 with residents. Phase II limits were designated by all present at this meeting
