Welcome to the City of Atlanta's Employee/Retiree Benefits web page. This site provides employee and retiree group benefits information and includes links to Oracle Advanced Benefits Self-Service (SSHR). It also provides fast, secure and convenient access to benefits and personal information on a 24-hour basis.
Any changes made during the Open Enrollment Period will be effective September 1, 2014 – August 31, 2015.
Options selected will remain in effect until August 31, 2015, unless you have a qualifying life event. In accordance with this federal mandate the City of Atlanta will allow you to add or continue coverage for those dependents. Open Enrollment will be the only opportunity to add adult dependents (19-25) that do not have other qualifying life events which in most instances is loss of coverage from another provider.

City of Atlanta pension benefits are available under two distinct plans, Defined Benefits and Defined Contribution. The Department of Human Resources’ Pension Division is the liaison between employees/retirees, and the third party pension administrators responsible for managing these plans.
Though pension calculations and related transactions are performed offsite, employees and retirees may speak directly to onsite Pension Division representatives. These representatives are versed in the complexities associated with each plan and can provide clarity in matters of concern. Additionally, you may use the online pension calculator to calculate a retirement allowance estimate. You can figure several retirement scenarios based on the different options and dates you enter.

If you are seriously considering retiring within one year, please contact the City's Third Party Administrator. Third party administrators responsible for respective pension plans are as follows:

The Pension Division also coordinates the City’s 457 Deferred Compensation and ROTH Plans, which include ING, ICMA, and Nationwide.
