Business License
All businesses located within the city limits of Atlanta are required to have a Business Tax Certificate (also referred to as a “Business License”). The City’s Business Tax Division will assist you in making sure that your business complies with all applicable city ordinances

The City has initiated Online Permitting to allow contractors the ability to apply for permits online and provide enhanced access to the issuance of permits.

The Department of Procurement
The Department of Procurement (the “DOP”) is the primary agency responsible for all purchasing matters for the City. The DOP provides a administrative purchasing for all supplies and services necessary for the efficient operation of all City departments. The DOP is responsible for developing bid specifications jointly with the City departments, obtaining bids/proposals through advertising and direct solicitation, establishing and monitoring annual contracts, and issuing and approving purchase orders. Our focus is to promote a climate that fosters good business relationships between our suppliers and the City.

The Office of Contract and Compliance
The Mayor’s office of Contract Compliance (“OCC”) serves as a liaison linking small, minority, female and Disadvantaged Businesses with City of Atlanta related business opportunities, and to encourage equal opportunity for all businesses and individuals in the Atlanta workplace. OCC is comprised to services and administers its programs on formal contracts in the Aviation, Watershed, and General Fund Departments.
