Mayor Reed Joins Federal and State Officials to Announce Major Grant Award
Grant to provide integrated housing opportunities with support services
for low-income persons with disabilities

WHAT:

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will join officials from HUD, HHS, and the State of Georgia’s Department of Community Affairs to announce the Section 811 Project Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (PRA Demo) major grant award.

In an effort to spare Georgians with disabilities from homelessness or unnecessary institutionalization, HUD and HHS are working together, helping states like Georgia offer permanent housing and critically needed supportive services to ensure at-risk individuals find their place within the fabric of their community. Section 811 Project Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (PRA Demo) enables persons with disabilities who earn less than 30 percent of median income to live in integrated mainstream settings.
