City of Atlanta to Conduct Annual Point-In-Time Homeless Count

WHAT:

The City of Atlanta will conduct the annual Point-In-Time (PIT) Homeless Count on Monday, January 23, 2017. The Atlanta PIT Homeless Count helps to identify vulnerable groups by conducting surveys that provide demographic characteristics, homeless history, homeless experiences, and other vital information. The homeless count is crucial for meeting federal requirements to continue receiving funds for homeless services, and for tracking the success of local efforts to end homelessness in the City of Atlanta. The census seeks to count both sheltered and unsheltered homeless individuals.

More than 300 volunteers are expected to participate in the Atlanta PIT Homeless Count.
