Mayor Kasim Reed will join Department of Parks and Recreation Commissioner Amy Phuong, along with Department of Watershed Management Commissioner Kishia Powell, Atlanta City Councilmember Yolanda Adrean and the Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy for the unveiling of the new Atlanta Memorial Park playground in Buckhead.

The Department of Parks and Recreation incorporated the community’s input in its planning efforts and installed a newly-designed playscape playground offering a wide range of open-ended play options. The playground design also takes into consideration the park’s flooding issues and was built on higher ground on Wesley Drive.

The City of Atlanta invested $200,000 toward the new development and an additional $200,000 was raised by the Atlanta Memorial Conservancy through a combination of grants and private donors.
