City of Atlanta Awarded the 2012 Elite “Best and Brightest” Employer

National Association for Business Resources ranks City of Atlanta for its annual “Atlanta’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” program

The City of Atlanta was honored as an Elite “Best and Brightest” employer by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) at an awards luncheon today. Mayor Kasim Reed joined the celebration to deliver the welcome address and congratulate all of the winners.

“This recognition celebrates our commitment to employing a best-in-class workforce committed to the ongoing success of the city and a high level of customer service,” said Mayor Reed. “I want to salute our dedicated employees, who work hard each and every day for Atlanta’s residents, businesses and visitors. It is because of them that the City has earned this distinguished honor as one of the ‘Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.’ ”

In May, NABR ranked the City of Atlanta among “Atlanta’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For,” citing it as a well-managed employer with innovative benefits and desirable amenities. The City of Atlanta was recognized with the Elite award today because of the City’s exceptional mission, vision, values, culture and leadership.

“This honor celebrates the City of Atlanta’s commitment to customer service and reflects the strength and dedication of our employees who work tirelessly to improve the quality of life for everyone throughout Atlanta,” said Duriya Farooqui, Chief Operating Officer. “Working efficiently and diligently to provide residents in the city with exceptional customer service is our priority and a critical component of our success.”

“The City of Atlanta is honored to be named the Elite employer of the 2012 Atlanta’s best and brightest companies to work for,” said Human Resource Commissioner Yvonne Cowser Yancy. “This award is a reflection of the hard work of our employees and our commitment to performance and excellence. The City is proud to be an employer of choice.”

The “101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For,” a program of the National Association for Business Resources, is presented annually in Metro Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, West Michigan and now nationally.
