Are you closing on a house? This page will assist you in obtaining the zoning verification letter that that you may need and how to obtain it and pay for it.
A zoning verification letter is official documentation of your property’s zoning classification issued by the City of Atlanta’s Zoning Division.
E-mail or mail in the request for verification of zoning classification form.
You can submit this form via an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org OR by contacting the Zoning Division at 404.330.6175.

Processing can take seven (7) to ten (10) business days after the receipt of payment.
After your zoning verification letter has been processed, you will receive it either via e-mail, mail or you can pick it up.
Please note that there is a $300 fee for non-conforming zoning verification letters.
The e-mail will be sent with a copied seal. An original copy with the seal will be mailed in or picked up.
There are three ways to make payment:
PAY BY MAIL
If you are submitting via mail, you may pay via check or money order.
PAY IN PERSON
If you are submitting in-person, you may pay at the Cashier’s window after receiving an invoice from the Zoning Enforcement Division.
If you wish to make a payment online, please e-mail email@example.com or call 404.330.6175 first so that we may send you an invoice. There will be a convenience fee of $4.50.

After the Zoning Division issues you an invoice, payments can be made in the first floor of City Hall at the Cashier’s window. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, certified bank check or money order.
