When the City of Atlanta first examined its energy use, it found a few surprises. For example, City Hall used as much energy in the middle of the night as it did in the middle of the afternoon! The Energy Stars Employee Conservation program was created to ensure that lights, computers and other equipment are turned off at night. Representatives from each City department play an important role in saving the City money and energy.
