Atlanta, GA- Mayor Shirley Franklin has been elected to serve on the Advisory Board of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. The Advisory Board is responsible for originating and lobbying for policy priorities that concern the nation’s mayors.
The new President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Mayor James Garner of Hempstead, NY, welcomed Mayor Franklin to the Advisory Board and said, “Her presence and experience will help ensure that the Conference continues to advocate aggressively and successfully for the key priorities facing U.S. cities.”
When accepting the distinction, Mayor Franklin said, “ I am extremely pleased and honored to be joining the USCM Advisory Board and appreciate the opportunity to promote the development of policy that will aid all of our cities.”
