The Atlanta Police Department, with assistance from various downtown law enforcement agencies and groups, will begin deployment for implementation of the Blue Loop Traffic Plan at noon on Thursday, April 10, 2003. This deployment is due to the possibility of spring break traffic, along with the expected traffic from the Dogwood Festival, and activities scheduled at various cultural venues.
The traffic plan will go into effect at approximately 6:00 PM on Thursday evening. The Blue Loop Traffic Plan will remain in effect throughout the weekend, until cancelled by the Chief of Police, Atlanta Police Department.
Due to the newness of the "Blue Loop" plan and our desire to make this transition as easy as possible, the Atlanta Police Department has decided to relax the rules regarding the need for a neighborhood placard to access neighborhoods and businesses in the Blue Loop area this weekend. However, in the future, a placard will be required.
