Mayor Shirley Franklin Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Clean Water Atlanta Initiative inside Nancy Creek Tunnel

Press Briefing and Photo Op: Inside The Nancy Creek Tunnel to celebrate the One Year Anniversary of the Clean Water Atlanta Initiative

WHEN: Monday, October 13, 2003 Program begins at 3:30 pm

WHERE:

R. M. Clayton Reclamation Center, 2440 Bolton Rd
From downtown, take I-75 North to Moores Mill Road exit.
Turn right and proceed to dead end at Bolton Rd.
Turn right onto Bolton Road.
The R. M. Clayton WRC Plant is on your right at 2440 Bolton Road.

Note to Media:    Please arrive early, no later than 3:00 pm. OSHA requires you view a safety video prior to entering the Tunnel

 

Visuals:        Opening remarks from Mayor Franklin and Commissioner Ravan. Mayor Franklin descends 150 feet into the Nancy Creek Tunnel and takes the train for 2 miles to the Tunnel Boring Machine.  Photo Op of Mayor and Boring Machine (possibly with pool video camera).  Video with animations of the tunnel construction process.  Other Visitors may take the "mancage" and descend into Tunnel.
