Mayor Shirley Franklin On Drug Czar John Walters Visit to Atlanta

Mayor Shirley Franklin said, “ I am appreciated the opportunity to meet with White House Drug Czar John Walters during his visit to Atlanta today. Our meeting provided me an opportunity to thank him for past support and to enlist additional support in this critical area. Successful programs like Weed and Seed and enhanced police presence in our community are an integral part of addressing this issue, but more programs, services and grant opportunities are needed. I look forward to working with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy to enhance Atlanta’s efforts to address this national epidemic.”
