"There is no dollar amount that can show the real value of this exhibit. We have only seen one side of King but .this exhibit allows you to know the total man through his personal thoughts. This is a wonderful exhibit and I am glad Atlanta has the papers here. It brings history back home!"

"They say that us "youngins" don't understand what this exhibit Is about and how significant and special Dr. King is but they are completely wrong. I understand to the greatest ability and I feel it with all my heart. I sat against one of the walls for a half hour just staring at a picture of Dr. King while listening to him preaching and it brought tears to my eyes."

"I want to take this moment to thank Dr. King. It is because of his dream and unselfish dedication to the enhancement and development of our race that we can live certain realties. We need to get back to the time where men were thinkers and education was a priority."

"I would like to say how blessed and fortunate I feel to have witnessed and read the original writings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I leave the Atlanta History Center feeling energized and inspired about how I may aid in changing this world and move toward peace and togetherness. I want to thank Dr. King for his contribution to the American people, and the world. May his legacy live on in our hearts, minds, and souls."

"Wow This is spectacular! It is gratifying to know that our city, state, and corporate leaders care enough about the legacy and historic impact of the Dr. Martin Luther King papers to ensure that they remain in Atlanta. This Is a collection that everyone must see and experience. I am proud to live In Georgia at this moment."

"As a teacher of United States history, I have visited many monuments and historical places. Never have 1: seen something so important as this exhibition. The other places are things I was interested in. This Is something I can believe  In; justice and equality for everyone. We are here to make each other better and Dr. King made each of us better today."

"This exhibit is truly extraordinary. I encourage every American to experience these remarkable writings for themselves. I was inspired and encouraged. Whatever the cost — it was worth it to consolidate, preserve, and display these emerging works of history."

"I remember walking through and feeling a sense of pride. There were children of all ages taking time to read through the pages of their history. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to be here to witness this display of humanity and unity of people."

"Thank you Mayor Shirley Franklin for having the foresight and wisdom to keep the Martin Luther King Jr. papers here in Atlanta. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to have Dr. King speak to me through his papers. Thank you for having a place I can spend a day with my daughter and explain to her how great our race can be."

"Not only was I. impressed with the exhibit, but I was greatly moved to see together black, white and other nationalities respectively observing the writings. I'll be back for another visit."

"Seeing this exhibit really enlightens me to the other sides of Dr. King. I can see Into him as an Individual — a • "real" person. It was very well structured and leaves you with a desire to learn and do more. I am so very grateful for being able to experience this with my children."

"It Is a privilege and honor to view these precious documents, Today, I came to the exhibit with my husband and young son. I was amazed at Dr. King's intellect and detail of events. I am not sure If he knew he was leaving a written record history of this brief period in the civil rights struggle. My son asked what makes Dr. King so special. I brought him to this exhibit and now he knows. He was a drum major for justice. Peace to all."

"Dear Dr. King — From this day forward, I will live my life within the memory of your dream. I am the dream, and I thank you for all you have done. I will walk, speak, and act of greatness. I am filled up and will soar to new heights. I Am The Dream!"

"Mere words are seemingly not sufficient at this time. This is more than an exhibit...this is a "spiritual pilgrimage" and I am simply In awe with all that this collection represents. How marvelous."

"This was so amazing. I wanted to read every word. As a young person, I feel my generation takes for granted all that our elders fought so passionately for. This exhibit makes me feel blessed to have had such a strong soldier to help blaze the path."

"It amazes me that we seem to learn so little from the lessons of the past. Dr. King's work is more, and just as, relevant in these contemporary times. We need him and his way of thinking today."

"What I think is most important about this exhibit Is not only the walls that Dr. King climbed, and the social injustices he fought, but the journey — the educational journey that Dr. King took to develop his mind, his philosophies, and character. It is important that young children and adults take away the importance of continual education, learning, and reading. Reading is key to success. You gain perspective on the world, not just 'your own world.' I encourage all parents, grandparents, teachers, mentors, and everyone to find a child and bring them to the exhibit to see not only a great man, but how he bettered himself to become the great man we know today."

"Thank you so very much for this exhibit. I was born In 1965 and have read many books about Dr. King. But nothing, humanized him and made him seem so real as today. I can appreciate that he was real, ordinary. But was obviously lead by God to do extraordinary things. Thank you for this experience."

"Growing up, I was taught about Dr. King and the non-violent movement and I feel that my parents instilled a sense of pride being a black female, But it is not until my current stage in life as a mother that I truly appreciate and fully understand the importance of the Civil Rights Movement. Today, instead of staying at home and 'taking the day off,' I wanted to ensure my five year old son became a part of history. He has been asking many questions about Dr. King because he has been learning about him In school so I felt this would be a great history lesson for him, and for me as well, This has been such a privilege to view with my own eyes the written works of Dr. King. It is one thing to see the marches, and hear the speeches, but to actually view his words and other documents was amazing. Thank you to all who made this possible."

"A lifetime of self-reflection, study, and experience would not have given me the insight that I received from one day, conceptually, In the mind of Martin Luther King Jr. This was truly a motivating and inspiring experience to which I shall visit again. To know that Dr. King's dream has extended as far as sharing less than six inches of space with a white brother or sister or another from another religion takes me to a greater level of enlightenment. Thank you. This was great."

"Outstanding collection! Every kid in America should visit and see this exhibit."

"I feel this history – a very emotional viewing. He comes alive again on every page."

"I hope...I plead...1 wait for a day when all men can be remembered with such elegance and integrity, A§ I stood watching the "I Have a Dream" speech, I noticed quietly that I was standing next to a Hispanic man, beside a beautiful Asian woman, and behind a black child. Dr. King would have been pleased."
"This was an extremely moving experience. I came with my entire family and we read portions of the papers together. We were touched. This is a one-of-a-kind exhibit. I will return and spend more time."

"This is by far the most inspiring and touching exhibit In American history ever to be witnessed first-hand."

"This exhibit borders speechlessness. 1 can't recall anything before this, other than the Bible, that has stirred fire in my bones. Having the opportunity to view the vast and informative exhibition with my children is greatly appreciated and much needed to know our struggles and how to lend to making the world a more equal and safe place to be."

"Thank you Atlanta! I am overwhelmed by this experience; a chance to experience and share my/our/your history with my three children. As I read from the papers of Martin Luther King Jr. I reflect on and reaffirm my own dreams. Dreams for myself, my children, my race, my country and indeed the human race.. We have come so very far; we have so very far to gol My heart rejoices and my heart weeps. Today, 1 recommit myself to living a life that honors my ancestors and our future generations. We have much to do and I want to be a "drum major."

"This exhibit was so very powerful. To see the words that inspired a nation and generations of people is amazing. This has been an unforgettable experience. My travel from Richmond, Virginia to be here was worth it."

"I leave here today transformed. This experience was moving and inspirational. I leave taking the responsibility with me. I treasure these memories and thank you all for sharing them with the world. As one who has been transformed — I accept the responsibility of growing the King legacy."

"For all of my life, I have viewed Dr. King as a legend and an icon. Today, through my personal exposure to his personal notes, I can now view him as a man."

"I am honored to have been able to view such a purposeful and powerful exhibit. It cries out for each and every one of us to look within ourselves to do more to bring about social change in our own day and time. I am forever grateful to Dr. King and all those that sacrificed to make life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness a reality for me.".

"I thank all who made possible this day. For me, the most significant fact is the number of young people including elementary age, who came here with parents and grandparents! May this day be a day we will always cherish. And may Dr. King's life be a call to action."

"I am grateful to have had the opportunity to view the writings of Dr. King. His perception of the time in which he lived and his hope for the future was astounding. He was truly an inspiration to us all. Thank the city of Atlanta, the King family, and all Involved for having the foresight to purchase and preserve these incredible works. Hopefully one day, we will all reach the mountaintop."

"I am 16 years old and reap the benefits from your struggle to this day. What you've done for not only African Americans, but people in general has helped us all to see the light within our dream. The strength you had upholds our nation now and for that I thank you. I wish I could tell you but I feel in spirit you know."

"May God bless you all for this wonderful gift. It is beautiful and priceless. My heart overflows with love and pride at the wonder of this man and his vision. His vision, and now his legacy, fosters In me a tenacious drive to not give up, not falter, and to not be denied. I have come too far to be denied. And I leave today more committed to love."

"Dr. King, I want to thank you for your vision. I want to thank you for possessing the courage, wisdom, and honor that made your dream possible, and allowed the young generation, of which I am a member, to prosper and fulfill their dreams and aspirations. Because of you, no dream is too big, no goal is unreachable. I can, and will, conquer the world and prove that African Americans have a place and voice in this world. t am committed to this as you were committed to us. I thank you Dr. King, forever and always."
