Mayor Shirley Franklin, in her capacity of Chair of the Board of Trustees of CIFAL Atlanta and Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere Walter Bastian announce June 2007 Americas Competitiveness Forum.
Atlanta was chosen as the location for the Forum for its commitment to competitiveness and its success in leveraging public-private partnerships to foster innovation and business development. Atlanta embraces best practices and seeks to be a best-in-class city. The Department of Commerce’s choice of Atlanta as the location of the first Americas Competitiveness Forum attests to Atlanta’s success.
During the Americas Competitiveness Forum in Atlanta, Minister level government officials from the 34 countries of the Western Hemisphere will meet with representatives of the private sector, academia, and civil society to explore cutting edge ideas and best practices designed to spark innovation, increase economic prosperity, and enhance the competitiveness of the region.
