WHAT:

City officials and the Ben Hill Community will celebrate the official opening of the newly renovated Melvin Park Drive baseball field at the Ben Hill Recreation Center. This renovation project was made possible through the Little League Baseball Urban Initiative Program and the "Popular Mechanics Gives Back" program. The program’s goal is to promote values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, fair play and other positive benefits of the Little League Program to children and adults in urban communities. In partnership with this initiative, "The Popular Mechanics Gives Back" program donated $50,000 towards this project in October 2003.

Saturday, March 6, 2004 - Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude with a ribbon cutting. A little league exhibition game is scheduled following the ceremony.
