The boil-water advisory for North Atlanta/Buckhead, issued because of a break in a 20-inch main at Northside Drive between Westover and Arden Roads, was lifted last night at 11:00 p.m. The break caused the Northside Pumping Station to fail, prompting the city to issue the advisory. Standard procedure is to test six water samples from various locations in the affected area. Water from the six samples proved to be safe.
The city is investing the cause of the main break. Preliminary indications are that subsidence of the road bed may have created pressure on the pipe.
