Department of Corrections Celebrates National Correctional Employees Week

WHO:	The City of Atlanta Department of Corrections
WHAT:	The City of Atlanta Department of Corrections will be recognizing Correctional employees during the national observance of Correctional Officers Week, May 6th – 12th, 2007.   Meaningful programs have been scheduled throughout the week to recognize the work accomplishments of Correctional employees and their service to the City of Atlanta.
WHEN:	Monday, May 7th, 2007, 11:30 a.m. Annual Memorial Prayer Service Atlanta City Detention Center (Auditorium) 254 Peachtree Street SW Atlanta, Georgia 30303 (This is a program of remembrance for families of deceased personnel.)   Tuesday, May 8th, 2007, 12:00 p.m. Perfect Attendance Luncheon Atlanta City Detention Center (Auditorium) 254 Peachtree Street SW Atlanta, Georgia 30303 (This program recognizes employees who had perfect attendance in 2006.)   Wednesday, May 9th, 2007, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Annual Employee Health and Benefit Fair Atlanta City Detention Center (Auditorium) 254 Peachtree Street SW Atlanta, Georgia 30303 (This health/benefit fair provides employees with the opportunity to have various medical screenings, gain information regarding various programs and opportunities available to them and shop the booths of various vendors that will be on hand.)   Thursday, May 10th, 2007, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Nominees’ Reception & Karaoke Atlanta City Detention Center (Auditorium) 254 Peachtree Street SW Atlanta, Georgia 30303 (This event celebrates the more than 100 employees who were nominated for award recognition.   Friday, May 11th, 2007, 11:30 a.m. Annual Awards Luncheon Renaissance Atlanta Hotel Downtown 590 W. Peachtree Street NW Atlanta, Georgia 30308 (Awards will be presented in the categories of Correctional Officer, Supervisor, and Civilian of the Year, along with recognition for distinguished service, customer service, professional service, team spirit and the Chief’s Award of Merit.)
