Water/sewer projects in Midtown and Virginia-Highland/Morningside will be completed or placed on hold this weekend so as not to interfere with the Dogwood Festival. Sewer rehabilitation on Monroe Drive is complete, and sewer repair on 10th Street is scheduled for completion today. Water main replacement work in Virginia-Highland/Morningside will be suspended Friday, and all blocked lanes will be reopened. Water main replacement on Peachtree and West Peachtree streets will continue as planned. Please avoid West Peachtree Street at 10th Street and Peachtree Street between 4th and 5th streets if possible, and use Monroe Drive or the Freedom Parkway to travel to Piedmont Park. Directions:
From the north, take I-75/85 South to the Monroe Drive exit. Turn left (under the interstate) and right at the red light (onto Monroe Drive). Continue on Monroe Drive to 10th Street. Turn right onto 10th Street.
From the south, take I-78/85 North to the Freedom Parkway. Go right and get into the far left lane. Turn left at the light onto Boulevard. Continue on Boulevard (which becomes Monroe Drive when it crosses Ponce de Leon Avenue). Follow Monroe Drive to 10th Street. Turn left onto 10th Street.
