Mayor Joins Department to Celebrate Greenway Program Completion

WHAT:	Mayor Shirley Franklin will join Watershed Management officials to celebrate the completion of the Greenway Acquisition Program, a major Consent Decree milestone. Under the $25 million program, Atlanta has acquired nearly 2,000 acres of greenways, defined as natural land bordering waterways, inside the City limits and in jurisdictions throughout the metro area. The land will be protected from development in perpetuity. (Directions attached.)

NOTES:	Directions: From Downtown, take Prior Street south approximately 1.4 miles from Memorial Drive. Turn right onto Arthur Langford, Jr., Place, just past High Point Estates subdivision. From I-75 Southbound, take the University Avenue exit and turn left (east). Turn right onto Pryor Street and go approximately ½ mile to Arthur Langford, Jr., Place. Parking is available on Bowen Circle and at the park.
