AIRTRAN AIRWAYS TO UNVEIL NEW AIRCRAFT

MAINTENANCE HANGAR IN ATLANTA

Mayor Shirley Franklin will Speak at Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

WHO:

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will feature remarks from:

  • Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin
  • AirTran Airways Chairman and CEO Joe Leonard
  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport General Manager Ben DeCosta

Opportunities for one-on-one interviews with each of the officials and guided tours of the new facility also will be available. AirTran Airways’ Crew Members will be on hand to celebrate the opening of the new hangar and will be recognized for the hard work that went into making the project a success.

 

 

WHAT:

AirTran Airways has completed construction of its first hangar at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the occasion.  The opening of this facility reaffirms the low-fare airline’s dedication to the travelers of Atlanta.

 

AirTran Airways’ Atlanta hangar is 65 ft. tall and can fit two of the airline’s new Boeing 737’s parked wing-to-wing.  The modern structure houses more than 76,000 square feet of work space and features a state-of-the-art computerized atmosphere control system.

WHERE:

AirTran Airways Hanger

1340 North Loop Rd (immediately north of airport terminal)

Directions:

  • I-85 to Virginia Ave exit.
  • Proceed east on Virginia Ave to first stoplight.
  • Turn right (South) onto Toffee Terrace and then make another right onto North Loop Road.
  • AirTran Airways hangar will be on the left at the next light.
