City Temporarily Closes McLendon Avenue at Candler Park Drive
The City of Atlanta Department of Public Works will close McLendon Avenue at Candler Park Drive from Monday, August 2, 2004 - Friday, August 6, 2004 in order to perform work as part of a "Traffic Calming Project.
The project includes installation of bulb-outs, new sidewalks, road resurfacing, and landscaping. As part of the construction, the City will be placing a 4 foot concrete median near Candler Park Drive and a roundabout near Howard Circle.
The work near Howard Circle will also require a temporary closure at the intersection of Howard Circle and McLendon Avenue in late August 2004.
The project, which is scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2004, will make the neighborhood safer for pedestrian and vehicular traffic
