Mayor hosts Governor Sonny Perdue

 for Nancy Creek Tunnel Tour

WHAT:

Mayor Franklin and DWM Commissioner Hunter
will lead Governor Sonny Perdue and state officials
on a tour of the Nancy Creek Tunnel, one of the key
elements in the City’s plan to overhaul its aging
wastewater infrastructure. Accompanying the
Governor will be
Paul Burks of GEFA and Lee Thomas,
Chair of the GEFA Oversight Committee
 

WHEN:

Friday, August 27, 2004

Press Availability at 3:15 pm, at Tunnel site

Tour descent at 3:30 pm

WHERE:

R. M. Clayton Reclamation Center, 2440 Bolton Rd

From downtown, take I-75 North to Moores Mill Road
exit. Turn right and proceed to dead end at Bolton Rd.

Turn right onto Bolton Road. The R. M. Clayton WRC
Plant is on the right at 2440 Bolton Rd.

VISUALS:

Photo Ops Available of Descent into Tunnel at

approximately 3:30pm & Emergence from Tunnel
at approximately 5:30 pm. City Cable 26 will be the
pool video camera down in the Tunnel. Tour footage
will be made available to television media afterwards
 

PRESS:

The Mayor and Governor will be available for interviews
above ground immediately before the  tour

POOL VIDEO ARRANGEMENTS

Media who would like a dub of the tunnel tour pool video should bring appropriate equipment to make dubs at the tour site immediately after the tour is completed at approximately 5:30pm. Because the tour extends beyond normal business hours, dubs will not be available for pick-up at the Mayor's Office of Communications until Monday August 30, 2004.


City Cable 26 will shoot pool video as planned.
