WHAT: |
Mayor Franklin will join with Fred Hochberg, dean of Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy, to host a reception for Atlanta students and families to raise awareness of scholarships available for graduate students interested in urban economic development. The scholarships are available to Atlanta residents after Mayor Franklin participated in a June, 2007 forum as part of Milano’s “Urban Conversations” series. Franklin joined with other city and county executives to discuss the urban middle class in America, sharing her strategies to create community-friendly development, a stronger workforce and solid middle-class jobs.
The Urban Conversations Scholarship Fund was inaugurated in 2006 to reach out to prospective students in urban areas across the country. Master’s degree applicants from Atlanta are eligible to apply to this merit-based, annually renewable scholarship. The scholarship amount can be up to full tuition based on merit
