News Conference to Announce Special Activities to Take Place at the Grand Finale of the Tour de Georgia

WHAT:

The Grand Finale of the 2008 Tour de Georgia presented by AT&T (April 21-27) will be hosted by Atlanta on Sunday, April 27.  This media event on April 8 is to announce special activities that will take place on Sunday, April 27, including fundraising events for the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the official Tour beneficiary.  Children’s will also discuss activities occurring throughout the Tour leading up to April 27. The start/finish area for Stage 7 will be located at Centennial Olympic Park, and the race circuit will make 10 laps (6.27 miles per lap) of downtown Atlanta on that final Sunday. More than 80,000 spectators are anticipated for the final stage.
