Due to continued windy conditions and work being done to clear debris, all current street closures in the downtown area will remain in effect through this afternoon and most of the weekend. Affected buildings are working diligently to clear remaining glass and debris from windows. Police will re-open streets on an individual basis as soon as possible once all glass is cleared. Police anticipate all streets will be open by Monday morning.
The following streets remain closed:
Spring Street between Marietta and Harris
Andrew Young International Blvd. between Williams and Peachtree Center
Peachtree Street between Auburn Street to Harris Street
John Wesley Dobbs between Park Place and Peachtree Center Avenue
Marietta between Andrew Young International and Centennial Olympic Park Drive
Boulevard remains closed between Memorial and Gartrell for the next few weeks while the walls of the Cotton Mill Lofts are made safe.
The Atlanta Police Department, City of Atlanta Public Works and contractors working to clear the debris appreciate the cooperation of drivers and pedestrians when navigating or walking in downtown.
