Sewer Work Forces Road Closing

June 4, 2004 – A street cave-in on the section of Auburn Avenue that lies underneath the Downtown Connector overpass is forcing the closing of Auburn Avenue between Bell and Fort streets over the weekend. The section of street will be closed while crews from the Department of Watershed Management work to find the reason for the cave-in. Department officials expect the street to be open with limited access on Monday. Traffic is being re-routed onto Edgewood Avenue via Bell and Fort streets.
