Colin,
I am not embarassed.
Rather I am proud of the record of openness, transparency and honesty my administration has brought to public life in Atlanta and Georgia in 2 short years.
My life, my schedule, my taxes and my business relationships are an open book. I believe disclosure is the cornerstone of ethics.
One of these days maybe you will call upon other elected officials (and their spouses and partners) and candidates to release their personal income taxes.
I have set the highest standard for my behavior as mayor.
I have done exactly what I promised the voters of Atlanta by recusing myself each and every time in the city's procurement of airport concessions, championed ethics reform in the city, GRTA and ARC, met and exceeded every state and city disclosure requirement, released my personal income taxes for the last 6 years, and reformed the city's procurement process.
I am a mature single woman who has sought elected office out of my commitment to public service, nothing more.
This time, Colin, you are dead wrong.
Shirley
