Mayor Franklin Nominates Elizabeth B. Chandler as City Attorney


On Wednesday, November 15, 2006, Mayor Franklin nominated Elizabeth B. Chandler as City Attorney, pending City Council confirmation. 
 
“After a highly competitive process with five well respected candidates, I am excited to nominate Elizabeth Chandler to be our new City Attorney,” said Mayor Franklin. “Chandler has broad experience in all aspects of law and will bring a wealth of experience and perspective to the position. We embrace her and look forward to the Law Department progressing under her leadership.”
 
Chandler’s extensive knowledge gained as Vice President for Mirant Corporation where she oversaw the comprehensive internal decision-making process and corporate compliance program and as a Partner at Troutman Sanders LLP will be valuable as she embarks on this next phase of her career with the City of Atlanta.
 
Chandler earned her BBA in International Business from the University of Georgia in 1985 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia in 1988.
 
Linda DiSantis has been the City Attorney since 2002. After she leaves City of Atlanta government, she plans to teach be a legal consultant.
