City Celebrates national drinking water week

This week is National Drinking Water Week.  The City of Atlanta is celebrating with a Department of Watershed Management employee luncheon in the City Hall Atrium on Friday, May 6th, honoring the third anniversary of the return of the City’s drinking water system to public control. During the luncheon, Watershed Commissioner Rob Hunter will highlight the Department’s successes over the past three years, including:

  • Increasing the revenue collection rate;
  • Eliminating the backlog in installing water meters;
  • Replacing and repairing water mains in the Capitol View, Garden Hills and Spring Street/Technology Square communities; and
  • Institution of new customer service hours and a new customer service system;

After the lunch, Commissioner Rob Hunter and the Department’s deputy commissioners will compete in a water trivia game called “Who Wants To Be A Water Wise Guy?”
