Starting today, jobseekers interested in working for the City of Atlanta will be able to apply on-line through a new system called ATLAS (Atlanta Application System).
This new system, designed by NEOGOV, is a web-based job recruitment and applicant processing program that will allow candidates to check the status of their applications on-line. The new system will also allow applicants to complete job interest profiles and be notified electronically when positions open that match their stored skills profile. ATLAS may cut the time required to generate lists of eligible candidates by as much as 33 percent.
“This system will be a real boost to the City’s employment process,” said Benita Ransom, Commissioner of Human Resources. “It will make us more efficient and, ultimately, more competitive.”
Jobseekers who do not have access to a computer may continue to fill out paper forms that will be scanned into the system. However, the City’s goal is to maximize efficiency and get people hired sooner by minimizing paperwork associated with the applicant evaluation process.
All City job postings and the new application process are available at the employment page as well at the city’s Employment Services Office at 68 Mitchell Street, SW, Suite 2120.
For more information on the new system, please call (404) 330-6377 or (404) 330-6369.
