city of atlanta responds to
tropical storm cindy

Chief Operating Officer Lynnette Young commends the City of Atlanta's staff for a job well done during inclement weather. They were well prepared and responded quickly to the effects of Tropical Storm Cindy. We have experienced significant flooding and have worked to evacuate residents in areas with high water levels especially, the Simpson Rd., Peachtree Creek and Nancy Creek areas. Services were provided to eighteen people at Adamsville Recreation Center.

The Constituent Services from the Mayor's Office, Fire Rescue, Parks and Recreation, Police, Public Works and Watershed Management Departments were actively engaged in this great team effort.

City agencies continue to repair traffic signals, remove down trees, respond to emergency calls and remain on stand by for the anticipated upcoming bad weather.
