City of Atlanta Hires Karin Zarin to Manage City’s Recycling Program


Karin Zarin was recently hired to manage the City of Atlanta’s recycling program. As the former Executive Director of Keep Sandy Springs North Fulton Beautiful, Zarin brings a wealth of knowledge and background to the position

Mayor Franklin said, “The City of Atlanta is committed to "being green" with sound environmental initiatives and programs that preserve our planet and improve the quality of life for residents, visitors and generations to come.  We are thrilled to have Karin Zarin working to promote and increase recycling in Atlanta and we look forward to the recycling program progressing and thriving under her leadership.”

Prior to her work in North Fulton, she worked as an Education Instruction Specialist at IBM.  In the early 80’s, she was the Executive Director of the Atlanta Clean City Commission and worked for both Maynard Jackson and Andrew Young.

Zarin earned her BS from Ohio State University and her Masters in Education from Georgia State University.
