Chief Judge Deborah Greene, the Municipal Court of Atlanta, announced today the successful implementation of CourtView, the court’s new state-of-the-art case management system. The process of upgrading the computer system began in late 2005 and culminated when the system went “live” in March 2007.
CourtView allows all of the City’s Judicial Agencies -- the Court, Solicitor’s Office, and Office of the Public Defender -- to work in a state-of-the-art paperless environment saving time, resources and space typically required when operating a conventional court. While the Court is still busy refining the implementation, they are already experiencing positive dividends from the change. According to Doug Mincher, Court Administrator, “The $4 Million project was completed on time and within budget and will help make the Municipal Court of Atlanta as effective as any municipal court in the country.”
