Metro public safety agencies will participate in a Job Fair to be held at the Atlanta Corrections Facility on December 3 and 5, 2002.
The Atlanta Police Department will give priority employment consideration to displaced Corrections Officers.
The City is partnering with the Georgia Department of Labor and the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency to operate the Atlanta Career Transition Information and Operating Network (A.C.T.I.O.N.) Transition Center for displaced City employees, located at 818 Pollard Blvd., S.W. Employment and training opportunities, as well as workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills and salary negotiations will be provided.
Separated employees will be provided a list of current vacancies in the City’s Enterprise Funds, as well as a summary of vacancies in other metro area government agencies.
Free counseling services are available through the City’s Employee Assistance Program, and through the external EAP provider, Cameron and Associates.
The City is attempting to place separated employees in available vacant positions; eligible classified employees will retain priority re-employment rights for a period of two years.
