DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS OFFERS OUTPLACEMENT ASSISTANCE FOR EMPLOYEES AFFECTED BY THE REDUCTION IN FORCE


ATLANTA - To assist employees affected by the recent Reduction In Force, Mayor Shirley Franklin and Department of Corrections Chief Thomas Pocock today announced that the City of Atlanta will host a multi-agency job fair for those employees in the Department of Corrections affected by the Reduction In Force.

The Job Fair will take place on Tuesday, December 3, and Thursday, December 5, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the department’s auditorium at 254 Peachtree Street.

A total of 16 law enforcement agencies and other organizations have expressed an interest in hiring interested personnel that meet their eligibility requirements. Some of the agencies that will be on hand to assist are:

Georgia Department of Corrections
Fulton County Sheriff’s Office
Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office
Cobb County Sheriff’s Office
MARTA Police
Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice
DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office

Georgia Department of Labor
The CitiGroup/PrimeAmerica Division
Gwinnett County Correction Department
Federal Bureau of Prisons
Cherokee Co. Sheriff’s Office
