The City of Atlanta is closing down West Marietta Street at Lois Street in northwest Atlanta due to structural problems underneath the road and excessive water.  Motorists who usually follow that route are advised to take an alternate route pending further notification.  The amount of time necessary to make repairs cannot be determined until work crews are able to adequately access the situation on Thursday morning.

Recommended alternatives are using Marietta Blvd. Or Donald L. Hollowell Highway (formerly Bankhead Highway)
