Dear President Woolard and Councilmembers:
Today, I met with Mike Chesser, Chairman and CEO of United Water, Inc.
Mr. Chesser informed me that it is critically important for United Water that an effective monitoring program be implemented during the ninety-day correction period. On behalf of United Water, Mr. Chesser has offered to pick up the entire cost of the monitoring program and I have accepted this offer, pending the Council's concurrence.
The details of the program are still being worked out in further negotiations between United Water, the Mayor's Office and the Commissioner of Watershed Management, but I wanted to convey this message to you personally and directly.
