City of Atlanta Announces Amended Schedule for the Atlanta Streetcar for the 2018 College Football Championship Game
ATLANTA – The City of Atlanta announced today that the Atlanta Streetcar (ASC) will run a modified schedule to accommodate preparation activities and the 2018 College Football Championship game.
As a result of the street closures at Centennial Olympic Park Drive at Andrew Young International Boulevard and Luckie Street, ASC will suspend service on Sunday, January 7, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Monday, January 8, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Signage will be posted at each of the 12 stations alerting customers of the amended schedule. The Atlanta Streetcar will resume normal operating hours at 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 9.
The City of Atlanta encourages residents and visitors to use MARTA and for area employers to allow employees with the ability to telecommute to do so on Monday.
The Atlanta Streetcar is the best way to get around Downtown Atlanta. More than 1.5 million people have used the Atlanta Streetcar to visit restaurants, shops and Atlanta’s world-class tourist destinations, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center and Historic Site, the Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Georgia Aquarium, and the College Football Hall of Fame since opening day in 2014.
