City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs Announces Film Screening

City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs
House of June, Independent Art Film House

Gallery 72 will host a screening and talk back discussion of House of June’s short film “Levitate, Levitate, Levitate.”

“Levitate, Levitate, Levitate” is a sci-fi experiential drama that unfolds the narratives of four lives, interconnected by looming, numinous travel, framing Atlanta as its muse.

A cinematic ode to Afro-futurism, the film uses magical realism and fantasy to envision black futures ascending into the cosmic. Shot on DV (Digital Video), the film was originally commissioned for the Atlanta Film Festival and Airport Shorts as part of the Airport Art Program at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The program develops and integrates art, exhibits and performances into the fabric of the Airport environment for the benefit of passengers and employees.

This event is free and open to the public.
