Atlanta City Hall to Temporarily Close Due to Air Conditioning Malfunction

ATLANTA— Due to a malfunction of the air conditioning units that control the temperature at Atlanta City Hall, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has announced the early closure of the entire building and the government operations that are run from the City Hall campus.

“This decision, which is effective immediately, was made out of an abundance of caution,” said Mayor Bottoms. “Our first priority is the safety and welfare of our employees and our visitors.”

City officials have notified residents of the closure via our NotifyATL alert system. Work has already begun to repair the air conditioner, and the building is expected to reopen Tuesday morning for normal operating hours. We appreciate your patience as we address the problem.

All other off-site City operations, including the Courts, Recreation Centers and other governmental facilities are open.
