Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms’ Statement on Expansion and Renaming of Board of Ethics and Independent Compliance

ATLANTA—Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms issued the following statement.

“One of the cornerstones of our campaign was to usher in a new era of transparency and integrity in City government,” said Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. “Thank you to the City Council for this piece of legislation to assist this administration in the larger effort to build the more accountable government the people of Atlanta deserve.”

This legislation builds upon multiple reforms made by the Bottoms Administration for open government, including the launch of Open Checkbook, sweeping City credit card use reform and oversight, the institution of an e-Procurement process, the creation of the role of Chief Transparency Officer and the creation of the Task Force for the Promotion of Public Trust.
