City of Atlanta to Open Warming Center Ahead of Cold Weather

ATLANTA—The City of Atlanta will open a warming center ahead of colder temperatures.

The center will open:

• Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. - Thursday, January 2 at 6:00 a.m.
• Thursday, January 2 at 8:00 p.m. – Friday, January 3 at 6:00 a.m.
• Friday, January 3 at 8:00 p.m. - Saturday, January 4 at 10:00 a.m.
• Saturday, January 4 at 8:00 p.m. - Sunday, January 5 at 10:00 a.m.

The warming center will open at Central Park Recreation Center at 400 Merritts Ave. NE, Atlanta 30308.

(Old Adamsville Recreation Center at 3404 Delmar Ln NW, Atlanta, GA 30331 will continue to serve as an overflow location.)

Transportation will be provided by Fulton County from the Gateway Center at 8:00 pm nightly with return transportation upon deactivation.

Activation times are subject to change based on the updated National Weather Service forecast.
